I started dancing at a very early age, and loved it so much I stubbornly keep on doing it to this day. I also studied theatre in my hometown of Rio de Janeiro and started performing professionally in 1986 as Julia in Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Julia’. After such a wonderful character, there was no turning back.
In the following years I worked mainly with two companies: Ko Productions, a small company founded by three companions and me, and the Centro de Demolição e Construção do Espetáculo, led by renowned Brazilian director Aderbal Freire-Filho.
Playing with the borders between movement and acting have remained the base of my work. I arrived in Amsterdam at the beginning of the ’90s, the Golden Age of the Dutch dance-theatre, and had the opportunity to work with amazing artists and companies, including Marcelo Evelin, Bewegingstheater BEWTH, Daniela Graça, Michael Schumacher, Barbara Duijfjes, Michael Matthews and many others. In 2010 I joined DudaPaiva Dance Company in the performance Love Dolls.
Dutch performer Mischa van Dullemen and I have founded our own company, VanGeigerMen, in 2005. Together we have created so far 4 different productions : Vet , Vals Vlees, Killing Time and In het Vlees .
